Hangu: 5 Terrorists Killed in Operation, 2 Police Officers Injured Including DPO

Hangu:In a major operation conducted in Hangu’s Zargari Shnawari area, five terrorists were killed, while two police officers, including the District Police Officer (DPO) of Hangu, were injured. The operation was carried out by police and other law enforcement agencies following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The joint operation led to a fierce exchange of gunfire between security forces and the terrorists. Despite the heavy firing, the security forces displayed immense courage and successfully eliminated five terrorists. However, during the confrontation, DPO Hangu, Khalid Khan, and SHO Dera Ismail Khan, along with one other officer, sustained injuries.
The Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, contacted the injured officers and inquired about their well-being. DPO Khalid Khan’s condition is said to be stable, and he is being transferred to Kohat for further treatment. From there, he will be airlifted to Peshawar. The Regional Police Officer of Kohat, Abbas Majeed Marwat, is accompanying DPO Khalid Khan.
The law enforcement agencies remain resolute in their commitment to continuing the fight against terrorism. Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, also reached out to the injured DPO Khalid via phone to express his concern for his well-being. Minister Naqvi commended the bravery of DPO Khalid and the police team under his leadership, who successfully eliminated five terrorists in the ongoing operation against “Fitna Hindustan.”
