Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Responds to Questions on Imran Khan’s Discussion During US Visit

Islamabad:Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has responded to questions regarding whether former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was discussed during the recent meeting between Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump.
During an informal briefing to the media in Islamabad on Friday, Naqvi was asked if there was any conversation about Imran Khan during the meeting held last month. Naqvi replied that he is bound by confidentiality regarding the details of the visit to the US and, therefore, could not comment on the matter.
In response to another query, the Interior Minister also addressed the incorrect reports about the removal of former President Asif Ali Zardari. He stated, “Someone had to respond to the news about President Zardari’s removal, but the journalist should have apologized in two words. The wrong report has caused irreparable damage.” Naqvi expressed well-wishes for Zardari, saying, “May Allah grant President Asif Ali Zardari life and health, and he will complete his term as President.”
Additionally, Naqvi highlighted the critical role played by the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir in the recent Iran-Israel ceasefire discussions. He stated that both leaders played a significant role in de-escalating tensions between the two countries, contributing to global peace efforts.
It is important to note that during the same US visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House. The discussions included topics like trade, energy, and the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
