Political Shift in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Opposition Consultation Reaches Final Stages

Peshawar, Pakistan:Political consultations among opposition leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have entered the final stages, signaling potential shifts in the province’s political landscape. According to sources, a key meeting took place between Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, Federal Minister Ameer Muqam, and Prime Minister’s Advisor Pervez Khattak.
The informal political discussion was also joined by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Sources revealed that the meeting, which was initially set to offer condolences to Pervez Khattak on the passing of his sister, evolved into a strategic consultation on the province’s future political course.
In another development, it was reported that Ameer Muqam met with Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House to continue deliberations on the matter. As a result, a significant decision was made regarding a potential meeting of opposition members of the provincial assembly.
Furthermore, opposition leadership in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has agreed in principle to contest the upcoming Senate elections as a united front. This marks a crucial step in the opposition’s attempt to present a coordinated challenge to the current provincial government.
