According to sources, the session was convened to deliberate on constitutional and parliamentary aspects related to the disqualification reference. While the government has already formed a formal committee and issued a notification through the assembly secretariat, the opposition has yet to submit its nominees for the committee.

The government’s committee includes provincial ministers and senior parliamentarians such as Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Salman Rafique, Samiullah Khan, Syed Ali Haider Gilani, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Chaudhry Shafi, Chaudhry Iftikhar, Raheela Khadim Hussain, Amjad Ali Javed, Ahmad Iqbal, and Shoaib Siddiqui.
