Trump Imposes 10% Tariff on India, Strong Trade Restrictions Announced on BRICS Countries

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced stringent trade restrictions on India and other BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) countries, imposing a 10% tariff on goods imported from India. Trump further emphasized that there would be no trade concessions or exemptions.
Trump stated, “The formation of BRICS was aimed at harming the U.S. economy and weakening the dollar. We will not allow anyone to challenge the dollar.” He clarified that, as a member of BRICS, India would also fall under the new tariff policy.
Experts predict that this move will severely affect India’s exports, making Indian products more expensive in the American market. India is already grappling with an internal economic crisis and pressure on its foreign exchange reserves. This new U.S. policy has further shaken India’s economy.
Political analysts suggest that India’s diplomatic isolation and economic pressures are a result of its imbalanced foreign policy, coupled with its entanglement in the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and China.
