Aamir Khan Reveals How Javed Miandad’s Six Ruined His Wedding Day Happiness
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, famously known as “Mr. Perfectionist,” has revealed how a cricket moment, specifically Javed Miandad’s iconic six, turned his wedding day joy into disappointment.
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan recalled the memories of his youth and disclosed that Miandad’s historic six spoiled the happiness of his wedding day. Aamir and Reena Dutta secretly got married at the age of 21, despite family opposition. After the wedding, when they returned home, both of their families were engrossed in a cricket match between India and Pakistan, so no one realized they were missing.
This match, played on April 10, 1986, in Sharjah, was the famous one in which Javed Miandad hit a last-ball six to lead Pakistan to victory. Aamir explained that he was initially overjoyed as India was close to winning, but Miandad’s six turned that joy into regret.

Aamir later joked with Miandad during a flight meeting, saying, “Javed Bhai, you ruined my wedding day. It was my wedding, and you hit that six to defeat India, turning my wedding day into a day of disappointment.”
