Prime Minister Praises China’s Support in Stabilizing Pakistan’s Economy

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed heartfelt appreciation to China for its financial and economic assistance, which has played a significant role in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy.
According to reports, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Jiang Zaidong, met with the Prime Minister this morning. During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his good wishes for the successful hosting of the upcoming SCO summit and mentioned the ongoing consultations between the two countries regarding his upcoming visit to China for the summit.
Discussing the long-standing “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between Pakistan and China, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s full commitment to working alongside China for the successful implementation of ongoing CPEC projects. He highlighted key initiatives such as the ML-I, KKH, and operationalizing the Gwadar Port, as well as collaboration in agriculture, industry, and IT sectors.
The Prime Minister praised China’s financial and economic support, acknowledging that it has been crucial in strengthening Pakistan’s economy, leading to significant improvements in the country’s macroeconomic outlook. He emphasized that this support is vital for the government’s social and economic development agenda.
The meeting also touched upon regional security issues, particularly the recent developments in the Iran-Israel conflict. The Chinese Ambassador commended Pakistan’s active and constructive role in seeking peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy, including within the United Nations Security Council.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong further updated the Prime Minister on various aspects of the bilateral relationship and confirmed that preparations for the Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit to China, scheduled for August 2025, are already underway to ensure its success.
