Severe Heat in Karachi Today; Meteorological Department Predicts Strong Winds, Advises Caution

Karachi: Karachi is experiencing intense heat today, with the Meteorological Department forecasting strong sea breezes throughout the day.
According to the Early Warning Center of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the weather in Karachi is expected to remain hot and humid, with stronger-than-usual winds predicted throughout the day. The city’s sea breeze has resumed, with winds ranging from 20 to 45 kilometers per hour.
Today, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 28.5°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to be between 34°C and 36°C. Yesterday, the highest temperature recorded in the city was 34.4°C.
Meteorological experts stated that the humidity level in the air is expected to range between 50% and 75%, making the temperature feel 4 to 6°C hotter than it actually is. During this time, citizens may experience high levels of discomfort due to intense humidity.
The Meteorological Department has also forecast that the ongoing heatwave in central and upper Sindh could persist until June 12. Experts have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and exercise extra caution, especially for the elderly and children.
