Karachi: Youth Forgives Influential Attacker in Court, Declines to Pursue Case

Karachi: A young motorcyclist who was allegedly assaulted by an influential individual in Karachi’s Defence area has chosen to forgive the accused and not pursue legal action.
According to the report, the accused Salman Farooqi and another suspect were presented before the Judicial Magistrate South. During the court proceedings, the victim, Sudheer, stated that he was unaware he had been summoned to court and only appeared after being informed by his lawyer.
Another affected individual, Dhanraj, gave a statement in court, saying, “I don’t want to file any case.” The court inquired whether he was under any form of pressure, to which the youth replied, “I have no objections to whatever the court decides. I have forgiven the accused.”
This development comes amid growing scrutiny over how cases involving powerful individuals are handled in Pakistan’s legal system.
