Rain Forecast Issued for Punjab Till June 5

Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rainfall across Punjab starting today until June 5. In response, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for strong winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rain in various regions.
According to the Met Office, rain accompanied by thunder is expected in Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chitral during this period. Additional rainfall is also likely in Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad.
Intermittent rain and hailstorms have also been predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mianwali.
Director General PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, stated that strong winds and rain are expected across Punjab, including Lahore, until June 5. He added that the rainfall would help reduce the intensity of heat and ongoing heatwave conditions. Following the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, district administrations have been placed on high alert.
Due to increased wind activity in various parts of Punjab, including Lahore, the recent heat intensity has already shown signs of decreasing.
