Humayun Saeed Highlights Pashtun Culture in Upcoming Film ‘Love Guru’

Karachi: Pakistani superstar Humayun Saeed has revealed why he chose to incorporate Pashtun culture into his latest film Love Guru. Known for playing a pivotal role in the revival of Pakistani cinema, Humayun has not only produced several blockbuster films but also delivered stellar performances that have consistently drawn audiences back to theatres.
His filmography includes major hits such as Bin Roye, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, London Nahi Jaunga, and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. Now, he returns to the big screen with Love Guru, a film he is confident will resonate strongly with viewers.
Reuniting with Mahira Khan after 11 years — their on-screen chemistry in Bin Roye was widely praised — the film has already generated considerable excitement among fans.
As part of the film’s promotion, Humayun Saeed recently visited Peshawar for the launch of the Pashto song Sada Aashna, featured in Love Guru. During the event, he engaged with the local Pashto media and discussed the storyline, characters, and the integration of Pashtun culture.
“Love Guru is a unique romantic story that portrays different shades of love,” Saeed said. “But to see how it ends, audiences will have to watch the film.”
Speaking on the inclusion of Pashtun culture, he added, “I’ve always aimed to represent Pakistan’s diverse cultures in my films. In the past, I’ve showcased Punjabi, Pashtun, and Sindhi traditions.”
Referring to past performances, Saeed praised Sarwat Gilani’s portrayal of a Pashtun character and revealed that Mahira Khan will now be playing a woman from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Her character represents our Pashtun viewers around the world, and this kind of representation is very important,” he said.
He also lauded the team’s effort on the Pashto song Sada Aashna, calling it a result of collective hard work and passion.
Love Guru is set to release in cinemas on Eid-ul-Adha, and fans have already begun booking their tickets in anticipation.
