Pakistan Express Derails Near Bahawalpur; Both Railway Tracks Temporarily Closed

Multan: A Karachi-to-Rawalpindi bound train, the 45-Up Pakistan Express, derailed near Mubarakpur Station in Bahawalpur early this morning. Two carriages of the train went off the track, leading to the temporary closure of both up and down railway lines.
According to details, the incident occurred at 6:05 AM when the train’s AC Standard coach—fourth from the rear—completely derailed. The attached dining car was also affected in the accident.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. Railway officials confirmed that a relief train was immediately dispatched from Samasata, and rescue operations are underway at a swift pace.
Authorities are working to clear the affected track as quickly as possible to resume railway operations. Railway officers and emergency teams are present at the site, prioritizing the safety and convenience of passengers.
