Most of Pakistan Gripped by Heatwave, Jacobabad and Dadu Hit 48°C

Islamabad:A large part of the country continues to reel under intense heat, with the **Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)** forecasting **hot and dry weather** for most regions **today**.
While **southern and central parts of Pakistan** are expected to remain extremely hot and dry, **light rain and thunderstorms** are likely in **Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas**, offering some relief in those regions.
### Hottest Cities in the Past 24 Hours:
According to the PMD:
* **Jacobabad and Dadu** recorded the **highest temperature at 48°C**
* **Nawabshah, Larkana, and Turbat** followed closely with **47°C**
* **Sukkur** saw **45°C**,
* **Bahawalpur** hit **43°C**,
* **Multan** recorded **40°C**,
* **Lahore and Dera Ismail Khan** were at **39°C**,
* **Karachi** registered **37°C**,
* **Peshawar** at **33°C**,
* **Quetta** at **31°C**,
* **Islamabad** saw a mild **30°C**,
* **Muzaffarabad** recorded **29°C**,
* and **Gilgit** remained the coolest at **21°C**.
Authorities have advised citizens to **stay hydrated**, **avoid direct sun exposure**, and **limit outdoor activities** during peak afternoon hours to avoid heatstroke and related health risks.
