Pakistan Railways Achieves Record Revenue of Rs83 Billion in 11 Months

ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi announced that Pakistan Railways has achieved a historic revenue milestone, generating **Rs83 billion** in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year — the highest in the organization’s history for this period.
Breaking down the revenue sources, the minister stated:
* **Passenger trains contributed Rs42 billion**
* **Freight trains generated Rs29 billion**
* **Other sources brought in Rs13 billion**
Abbasi expressed optimism that Pakistan Railways is on track to break its annual record by reaching **Rs88 billion** by the end of the fiscal year.
### Regional Performance:
* **Karachi Division** emerged as the top contributor, earning **Rs13 billion** from passenger services and **Rs25 billion** from freight operations.
* **Lahore Division** reported **Rs10 billion** from passenger trains and **Rs0.75 billion** from freight.
* **Rawalpindi and Multan Divisions** each generated **Rs4 billion** from passenger services, with a **combined total of Rs8 billion**.
The minister emphasized that such financial performance has never been achieved in the 11-month span of any previous fiscal year. By comparison, Pakistan Railways had earned **Rs77 billion** during the same period last year.
Abbasi credited the improved performance to better management, increased efficiency, and enhanced public confidence in rail services.
