Alizeh Shah Shares Emotional Message Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, Urges Compassion and Sensitivity

Karachi:Popular Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has shared an emotional and heartfelt message on Instagram ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, which is gaining significant attention across social media platforms.

As the sacred Islamic festival approaches, Alizeh expressed her concerns regarding the method of sacrifice and the public display of the act. Clarifying that her message is not intended as criticism, she described it as a “gentle thought straight from the heart.”

“Please understand, this isn’t criticism—just a quiet voice offering a different perspective,” she wrote.

Acknowledging the significance of sacrifice in Islam and its connection to the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), Alizeh emphasized that while the act is a Sunnah, it is not obligatory for every Muslim. She expressed concern that the practice is, at times, drifting away from its original spirit of humility and devotion.

The actress particularly highlighted the distress caused by public scenes of sacrifice—blood-stained streets, frightened animals, and their agonizing cries—stating that such visuals can be deeply unsettling for sensitive individuals.

“These animals are also creations of the same loving God who made us. It breaks my heart to see them suffer in public like this,” she said.

Alizeh acknowledged and respected those who carry out the ritual with sincerity and devotion but urged people to move away from showmanship and return to the essence of Eid-ul-Adha: sacrifice, empathy, and humility.
