Palestinian UN Envoy Breaks Down in Tears During Emotional Speech on Gaza Crisis

New York: The United Nations Security Council was gripped by a powerful wave of emotion as Palestinian Permanent Representative Riyad Mansour broke down in tears while addressing the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. His heartfelt speech has since gone viral on social media, drawing global attention to the plight of Palestinians.
Speaking about the devastating toll of Israeli attacks on Gaza, Mansour described a harrowing reality. “Dozens of children are dying from hunger. Mothers hold their lifeless bodies in their arms, apologizing to them,” he said, struggling to hold back tears. “Can any human being bear to witness such scenes?” he asked.
Mansour, sharing his personal anguish, added, “I have grandchildren—I know what they mean to a family.” He continued, “Fire and famine are consuming Palestinian children, and the world remains a silent spectator.” His words were met with complete silence in the UN chamber, reflecting the depth of the tragedy.
The video of Mansour’s emotionally charged speech has sparked widespread reactions online, moving ordinary citizens and global leaders alike.

The war in Gaza, now entering its 17th month, has claimed more than 54,000 lives. In one of the most recent attacks, nine children from a single Palestinian family were killed. In another incident, six people were killed and over 50 injured when Israeli airstrikes targeted civilians waiting for humanitarian aid.
