Early Eid Gift: KP Government to Disburse Salaries and Pensions Before Eid-ul-Adha

Peshawar: In a welcome move for public servants, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that all government employees and pensioners will receive their salaries and pensions by May 30, 2025 — ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha holidays.
To facilitate public employees before the festive occasion, the provincial government issued a directive to ensure payments are made before the last Sunday of May, which falls on June 1, a non-working day. The KP Finance Department has officially circulated instructions to all government departments and institutions to complete salary and pension disbursements by the last working day of the month.
Meanwhile, negotiations between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the 2025–26 national budget have concluded. According to sources from the Ministry of Finance, the government has shared proposals with the IMF aimed at reducing tax rates on salaried individuals and industries, along with cutting both development and non-development expenditures.
