Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani Calls for Revival of Political Awareness in Balochistan

Quetta:Senior politician and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has voiced deep concern over the “dead political atmosphere” in Balochistan, urging genuine political workers to rise against what he described as “contractors, devotees, and facilitators” who have hijacked the province’s political process.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of Balochistan University students at Sarawan House on Thursday, Raisani emphasized the need for a **revival of intellectual and political consciousness** through educational institutions and student engagement.

> “Politics is not for personal gain, it is for the survival, progress, and prosperity of future generations,” he stated.

Raisani condemned the presence of **opportunists and non-political elements in party structures**, calling on the people of Balochistan to wage a **decisive political struggle** against them. He stressed the importance of uniting **conscious and aware individuals** on a single platform to address the province’s core national issues.

He highlighted that **nations face cycles of rise and decline**, but only **serious and aware societies** can navigate through crises and chaos. Time, he said, is of the essence, and it is crucial that the people of Balochistan do not allow more of it to be wasted.

> “We are preparing real political workers intellectually, consciously, and scientifically,” he added, pointing toward the goal of shaping a responsible and forward-looking citizenry.

Raisani called on students to **focus on education** and play their part in rebuilding the province by **fostering an academic culture** within universities.

> “The journey of national development requires every individual to accept both personal and collective responsibility,” he concluded.

His remarks are part of a broader call for **political reform and youth engagement** in Balochistan’s future, amid increasing concerns over governance and representation in the province.
