India Faces Backlash as Old Photo of Modi with S-400 System Circulates Amid Claims of Pakistan’s Successful Strike

New Delhi:India is facing a new controversy following the circulation of an old image showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi standing in front of the S-400 missile defense system in Udhampur, Kashmir. The image, which was originally posted in 2019, has resurfaced in a bid to downplay the loss of the S-400 system, which Pakistan claims to have successfully destroyed in response to Indian aggression.

Pakistan had previously presented evidence claiming that it had destroyed the S-400 system, alongside India’s *Rafale* fighter jets, in a series of retaliatory strikes that embarrassed the Indian military. While Pakistan provided documentation and visual evidence to support its claims, India has vehemently denied the destruction of its S-400 system, downplaying the extent of the damage.

The resurfacing of Modi’s 2019 image has raised suspicions, particularly when well-known Indian journalist Shiv Aroor shared it recently, attempting to suggest that it was a current photo. However, eagle-eyed social media users quickly pointed out the image’s date, which has only fueled public skepticism.

The public’s reaction has turned into a new wave of criticism against the Indian government, with many questioning the authenticity of India’s claims and the apparent attempts to cover up the destruction of its advanced S-400 defense system. The image, now linked with the controversy, is being seen as a symbolic admission of India’s vulnerability in the face of Pakistan’s military capabilities.

The unfolding situation has ignited debates over India’s handling of its defense vulnerabilities and its attempts to minimize the damage done to its military assets in the aftermath of the recent escalation with Pakistan.
