U.S. Secretary of State Contacts Pakistan Army Chief, Offers Assistance to De-Escalate Tensions with India

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – According to the U.S. State Department, Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir. During the call, the U.S. Secretary of State offered cooperation in reducing tensions between Pakistan and India.
Marco Rubio also expressed the United States’ willingness to provide constructive assistance in preventing future conflicts between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
The call comes amid heightened tensions following India’s reported missile attacks on three air bases inside Pakistan. Pakistan’s air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming missiles. In response, Pakistan launched “Operation Banyan Marsous,” targeting and reportedly destroying three Indian air bases along with several airfields.
The situation has raised regional and international concerns, prompting diplomatic efforts to contain further escalation.
