President Trump Offers to Mediate Peace Between Pakistan and India After Escalation

Washington D.C:U.S. President **Donald Trump** has offered to help mediate peace between **Pakistan and India** following the recent military escalation, which resulted in heavy civilian casualties and multiple aircraft being downed.

Speaking to reporters at the **Oval Office**, President Trump said he has good relations with both countries and hopes tensions will now de-escalate.

> “I know both Pakistan and India very well. I get along with both leaders. They’ve responded to each other, and now maybe they can stop.”

Trump added that if he can assist in establishing peace, he is ready to do so.

> “If I can help, I would certainly be willing to,” he stated.

The U.S. President had earlier condemned India’s surprise airstrikes on civilian targets in Pakistan as **“shameful,”** signaling rare criticism of New Delhi’s actions from Washington.

The overnight Indian attacks targeted **Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Muridke**, and **Ahmedpur East**, resulting in the destruction of **two mosques** and the loss of **31 Pakistani civilian lives**, including two children. **Fifty-one others were injured**.

In a swift and robust military response, **Pakistan shot down five Indian aircraft** including **three Rafale jets**, **a MiG-29**, **an SU-30**, and a **combat drone**, significantly denting India’s air superiority claims.

President Trump’s comments come amid rising international concern over stability in **South Asia**, a region often described as a nuclear flashpoint. He emphasized the urgent need for restraint and diplomacy.
