“Shibli Faraz Calls for Strong Response to India, Says One Person Can Gather 1 Million at Minar-e-Pakistan”

Islamabad: In a speech in the Senate, opposition leader Shibli Faraz emphasized the importance of a strong response to India, suggesting that if a single person were allowed five minutes on media, they could rally one million Pakistanis at Minar-e-Pakistan. Faraz, a parliamentary leader of PTI, criticized the Indian media for consistently targeting Pakistan, claiming that while India might focus on Pakistan’s economic and federal struggles, Pakistan would unite to counter any threats.
He further pointed out that this is the time for the government to release all political prisoners and put an end to internal divisions. He said, “Different ethnic groups in the country are currently facing their own issues. If one person gets five minutes on media, a million people could gather at Minar-e-Pakistan.”
Faraz also expressed his concerns about India’s continuous anti-Pakistan narrative, saying that the Indian government was constantly attempting to harm Pakistan, both through diplomatic channels and through its global diaspora. He noted that India had passed legislation in its parliament to strip Kashmiris of their rights, signaling Pakistan’s need to prepare for future challenges, particularly on the water issue.
In his response, Senator Irfan Siddiqui from the ruling party’s opposition, criticized Faraz’s approach, stating, “We should not fight amongst ourselves but focus on taking on Modi.” He also noted that during the previous government, military officers had never gone to a judge’s home, unlike the current administration.
Shibli Faraz, after listening to Siddiqui’s remarks, shifted the discussion back to internal issues, emphasizing the need for strong institutions to drive the nation forward.
