PSL 10: Mohammad Amir’s Celebration After Dismissing Babar Azam Goes Viral

Lahore: Quetta Gladiators’ fast bowler Mohammad Amir made headlines again in PSL 10 by dismissing Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam. This time, it was the third over of the second innings, when Amir’s inswinging delivery trapped Babar LBW, sending him back to the pavilion. Following the dismissal, Amir celebrated with an intense run towards the dugout in a unique style, which quickly went viral on social media.
This was the second time in the tournament that Amir managed to dismiss Babar Azam, and his strategy once again proved successful. Earlier in the tournament, Amir had sent Babar back for a duck.
After taking the crucial wicket, Amir celebrated passionately, drawing the attention of the crowd as he ran towards Quetta’s dugout, signaling with an iconic gesture.
In the same match, Fahim Ashraf delivered an outstanding performance by taking five wickets, leading Quetta Gladiators to a dominant 64-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi.
During the post-match press conference, Mohammad Amir talked about his competition with Babar Azam, saying such rivalries make T20 cricket even more exciting. Whether on the field or on social media, they provide entertainment for the fans. As a bowler, his job is to challenge the batsman, show aggression, and attempt to dismiss them. He added that Babar Azam is a world-class batsman, and there’s no doubt about it. Amir explained that his strategy was to swing the new ball both ways, and since he suspected Babar was expecting an outswinger, he decided to bowl an inswinger, which led to his success.
