Prices of Solar Panels, UPS, and Solar Batteries Drop Significantly in Pakistan During April 2025

Islamabad – Pakistan has witnessed a significant drop in the prices of solar panels, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), and solar batteries during April 2025, providing a much-needed relief to consumers and businesses alike. Market sources indicate that lithium batteries, which were previously priced at 400,000 PKR, have now seen a reduction of 20,000 PKR, bringing their cost down to 380,000 PKR.

Additionally, the price of tubular batteries has decreased by 15,000 PKR, now standing at 55,000 PKR compared to 70,000 PKR previously. Experts attribute this reduction to a combination of increased imports and favorable government policies aimed at encouraging the use of renewable energy.

Moreover, the price of solar panels has dropped to 28 PKR per watt, which is a notable decrease from the previous month. Experts suggest that this price drop is a direct result of increased imports and supportive government measures to boost the local solar energy market.

Federal Minister for Power, Owais Leghari, confirmed that Pakistan imported 8,000 megawatts of solar panels last year. The government is now planning to establish local manufacturing plants for solar inverters and other related products, which will not only reduce costs further but also boost the local industry.

This price reduction in renewable energy products is expected to accelerate Pakistan’s shift towards sustainable energy, providing a more affordable and reliable alternative for power generation across the country.
