Good News for Pakistanis: UAE Introduces Special Five-Year Visas

Karachi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new five-year visa policy for Pakistani citizens, marking a positive development amidst concerns about recent visa restrictions.
This announcement was made by UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, during a meeting with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor House in Karachi. He stated that Pakistani nationals will now be eligible to apply for a five-year visa to the UAE.
The meeting was also attended by UAE Consul General in Karachi, Bakhit Atiq Al Rumaithi. Governor Tessori thanked Ambassador Al Zaabi for the UAE’s investment in Sindh, particularly in Karachi, and praised the efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. On this occasion, the Ambassador invited the Governor to visit the UAE Visa Center in Karachi and appreciated the development and collaborative initiatives led by him.
Last month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that no official visa restrictions had been imposed on Pakistani citizens.
Under the new visa policy introduced by UAE authorities, applicants will be required to submit a return ticket, hotel booking, proof of property ownership (if applicable), and a guarantee deposit of 3,000 dirhams. The purpose of this policy is to prevent issues such as fraud and overstaying, which have been concerns in the past with some applicants.
