India Wins ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Claims Trophy and Huge Prize Money

The Indian cricket team has triumphed in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets, securing their third Champions Trophy title and earning a substantial prize money reward.

On Sunday, India successfully chased down New Zealand’s target of 251 runs set at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. New Zealand’s captain, Mitchell Santner, won the toss and chose to bat first. The Kiwi team scored 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. India reached the target in the 49th over, losing 6 wickets along the way.

Following their victory, the Indian players celebrated by lifting the shimmering trophy and receiving the tournament’s prize money. The ICC had announced the Champions Trophy’s prize pool on February 14, 2025.

According to the ICC, India will receive $2.24 million (over 62 crore Pakistani rupees) as prize money for winning the Champions Trophy. On the other hand, the runner-up team, New Zealand, has been awarded $1.12 million (over 31 crore Pakistani rupees).

It’s worth noting that the total prize money for this edition of the ICC Champions Trophy saw a 53% increase compared to the previous edition.
