Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Foreign Assets Exceed Domestic Holdings, Election Nomination Details Revealed

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif holds more assets abroad than in Pakistan, according to the details submitted in his nomination papers for the 2024 elections. The documents reveal that his domestic assets are valued at 14 million Pakistani rupees, while his foreign assets amount to 54 million rupees.
A report by The News’ correspondent, Qasim Abbasi, cites statistics available on FAFEN’s website, which indicate that, ahead of the 2018 elections, Shehbaz Sharif’s foreign assets were valued at 146 million rupees, and his domestic assets were worth 205 million rupees.
The report also highlights that, as of 2024, former President Asif Ali Zardari’s total assets are valued at 200 million rupees, with no foreign assets. In contrast, in 2018, Zardari’s total assets were reported at 640 million rupees, including 99 million rupees in foreign assets.
According to FAFEN’s data, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif owns 79 million rupees in foreign assets, while his domestic assets are valued at 74 million rupees.
Ahead of the 2024 elections, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s total assets are reported at 1.9 billion rupees, with 1.7 billion rupees of that total located abroad.
Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has domestic assets worth 80 crore rupees, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur holds domestic assets valued at 96 million rupees. Neither of these leaders has any foreign assets.
