Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani Urges Baloch Students to Focus on Education for a Bright Future

Karachi:Senior politician and former senator, Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani, has set an ambitious educational goal for the people of Balochistan, calling for a focus on education from primary schools to universities in the upcoming academic year. He emphasized the importance of fostering a book-loving resistance among Baloch people, particularly students, in order to secure a dignified and self-reliant future.

Addressing a debate on the theme of “Book Friendship” organized by students at the Street Library in Karachi, Raisani urged students to maintain peace and uphold the national discipline within educational institutions while countering any conspiracies against the promotion of education. He warned the participants that Balochistan, and the region as a whole, is moving towards significant change. He stressed that without proper planning and a commitment to knowledge and wisdom, future generations would face a major crisis.

Raisani pointed out that Balochistan’s strategic geographic location and its abundance of resources require that students in the region work towards maintaining peace and foiling attempts to undermine the education movement. He highlighted the ongoing efforts in Balochistan, where book fairs and book stalls are being set up, but he expressed concern over the government’s discomfort with these educational initiatives. The state’s fear, according to him, stems from the fact that the people of Balochistan are seeking to define their future through the light of knowledge, which challenges the legitimacy of the imposed leadership.

He urged Balochistan’s residents to intensify their resistance against these conspiracies, particularly in the realm of education, and continue their commitment to book-loving movements. Raisani also emphasized the responsibility of students and their parents to ensure teachers take an active interest in primary education. He criticized the negligence of many teachers in fulfilling their duties, which he believes harms future generations.

As the new academic year begins on March 1, Raisani called on the people of Balochistan to set an educational target for the year: from primary school to university, ensuring that the youth focus on building an academic environment that would enable future generations to confidently determine their own honorable and independent future.
