Imran Khan’s Letter to Army Chief Highlights Key National Issues

ISLAMABAD:Former Prime Minister and founder of PTI, Imran Khan, has sent a letter to Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, outlining six important points concerning the nation’s pressing issues. The letter, which has been confirmed by Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, addresses a range of topics including elections, terrorism, judiciary, and the economy.

According to party sources, the letter highlights the increasing terrorism in the country, with Imran Khan acknowledging the sacrifices made by the military in combating terrorism, and stressing the importance of national unity. He expressed concern that due to certain policies, a growing divide has emerged between the military and the public.

The former Prime Minister also accuses intelligence agencies of being used for political vendettas, which, he claims, has exacerbated the rise in terrorism. In the letter, Imran Khan further mentioned the controversial events of May 9, noting that the public has rejected those actions and that the upcoming elections have been marred by alleged manipulation of the people’s mandate.

Imran Khan also condemned the proposed 26th constitutional amendment, claiming that it aimed to curtail judicial independence, along with the introduction of the PECA (Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act) law, which he believes silenced the media.

Another significant point raised by Imran Khan in the letter was the ongoing internet shutdowns, which have caused significant economic losses, running into billions. He warned that such actions could potentially lead to international sanctions on Pakistan due to violations of fundamental human rights.

Finally, Imran Khan urged the Army Chief to reconsider and change current policies, asserting that for Pakistan’s economy to improve and the country to achieve sustainable progress, a policy shift is essential. The letter will be sent to the Army Chief via post, and the contents will also be made public.
