State Bank of Pakistan to Issue New Currency Notes with Modern Design in 2025

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that new currency notes with a fresh design will be issued in 2025. Governor of the State Bank, Jameel Ahmed, confirmed that the new notes will be printed and released gradually. He further mentioned that the new currency notes will be presented to the cabinet for approval soon.

However, the governor did not disclose the denomination of the first new currency notes to be released into the market. The new notes will be introduced in various denominations over time.

Earlier, the State Bank had announced that the new notes would feature advanced security features. Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Saleem Allah, had previously stated that the new currency notes are being introduced to maintain the effectiveness of the currency. The printing process will utilize modern technology.

Additionally, public suggestions were sought for the design of the new currency notes, and rewards were announced for the best submissions.
