Renowned Pakistani drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar recently revealed that he has married Faisal Qureshi’s former wife. Speaking about this in an appearance on journalist Irshad Bhatti’s podcast, Qamar clarified that he was not the reason behind the divorce between Faisal Qureshi and his ex-wife.
In the podcast, Qamar opened up on various topics, including his second marriage. He shared that when Faisal Qureshi and his ex-wife were going through their divorce, he had tried to advise Faisal not to let his family fall apart. Qamar recalled that despite his efforts, Faisal’s mother told him that his attempts could only delay the divorce for six months, but it would inevitably happen.
Qamar also mentioned that he had only met Faisal Qureshi’s ex-wife twice, and she used to call him “beta” (son). When asked about the reasons behind marrying Faisal’s ex-wife, he chose not to elaborate on the matter.
Addressing another question about his hit drama *Mere Pass Tum Ho*, Qamar made it clear that the story was not inspired by his own life. He mentioned that while the drama was airing, many people speculated about the connection to his personal life, but he denied any such links. He humorously added, “I wasn’t a rich man for any woman to leave her husband for me.”
When discussing Faisal Qureshi, Qamar spoke warmly of him, calling him a dear friend and praising his acting talent. He also shared how he had discovered Faisal Qureshi, stating, “I found him and brought him in, he is such a brilliant actor that he amazed me during the audition.”
