ISLAMABAD:Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has faced criticism from some social media users and Indian government officials regarding his swift recovery after surgery. Some skeptics have suggested that the attack on him might have been staged, speculating that such a rapid recovery would not have been possible if he had truly been attacked.
However, a viral video shared by an Indian doctor on social media has come to Saif Ali Khan’s defense, offering an explanation for his quick recovery. Dr. Deepak Krishnamurthy posted a video showing his 78-year-old mother walking just hours after undergoing spine surgery in 2022. He clarified that the video was taken on the same day as her surgery, and he shared it to counter the doubts raised about Saif Ali Khan’s surgery. Dr. Krishnamurthy emphasized that it was possible for someone to recover quickly, even after a major surgery.
The doctor’s post was aimed at those who had questioned the authenticity of Saif Ali Khan’s surgery and recovery, especially given the speed at which he seemed to bounce back.
This controversy comes after Maharashtra Ports Minister Nitesh Rane expressed skepticism about the attack on Saif Ali Khan. Rane questioned whether the actor had really been attacked with a knife or if he was merely acting. He also speculated that the alleged assailant, a Bangladeshi national, might have been attempting to kidnap the actor. Rane also accused opposition leaders of focusing on attacks against Muslim actors like Saif Ali Khan while ignoring similar incidents involving Hindu actors.
Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife six times during an attempted robbery at his home on January 16. Following the attack, he was rushed to Mumbai’s Leelavati Hospital, where he underwent successful surgery.
Indian police later arrested the suspected assailant, a Bangladeshi citizen named Sharif Islam Shehzad, who had illegally entered India and was living under a false identity, Bijoy Das.
