2025 National Polio Campaign: Over 41 Million Children Vaccinated in First 4 Days

Islamabad:The first national polio eradication campaign of 2025 is currently underway across Pakistan. In the initial four days, over 41 million children have been administered the polio vaccine, as part of the nationwide effort to eradicate the disease.
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, the national polio campaign will continue until February 9. Parents have been urged to ensure their children receive the polio drops during the ongoing campaign.
Dr. Mukhtar Bhurt, the Coordinator for Health, praised the efforts of polio workers, calling them the nation’s heroes. He emphasized that the success of the polio eradication campaign is dependent on public support, particularly the assistance of parents and civil society. Without their active involvement, the battle against polio cannot be won.
Dr. Bhurt also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating polio under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, noting that a comprehensive strategy is being implemented to tackle the disease. He highlighted that special measures are being taken in high-risk areas to further enhance the campaign’s effectiveness.
Additionally, Dr. Bhurt stated that the government is ensuring the safety of polio workers and has made necessary arrangements to protect them during the campaign. He encouraged everyone to play a crucial role in eliminating the polio virus and ensuring a polio-free future for the nation.
