Prominent Bangladesh Student Leader Sérgeis Alam Resigns as General Secretary of July Shaheed Smriti Foundation

Sergeis Alam, a prominent student leader from Bangladesh and Coordinator of Students Against Discrimination, has resigned from his position as General Secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation. Alam made the announcement on his Facebook page, explaining that structural and constitutional changes within the foundation led to the dissolution of the General Secretary role.

Alam revealed that under the leadership of CEO Mir Mahbub Rahman Snegdho, an executive committee would now oversee the operations of the foundation. The committee will be supported by a governing body consisting of advisors on health, social welfare, local governance, and ICT.

During his tenure from October 21 to December 31, Alam shared that the foundation provided financial aid to 628 martyr families and nearly 2,000 injured individuals. Reflecting on his voluntary service, Alam described his resignation as a bold decision that exemplifies his commitment to integrity and accountability in his duties.
