Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Calls for Struggle Against Injustice and Resource Exploitation

Quetta:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch, has strongly criticized the decisions made by the leadership in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, claiming that they aim to turn Balochistan into a “graveyard” through military operations, border closures, and humiliation at check posts. He stated that the forces controlling the resources of Balochistan are trying to oppress the people of the province by using hunger, power, military force, and police brutality to kill them.

Maulana Hidayat urged the people of Balochistan to stand firm and choose a life of dignity and struggle for their legitimate rights, rather than accepting oppression. He emphasized that there is no alternative to resistance for securing the rights of the Baloch people. He vowed that Jamaat-e-Islami, in collaboration with the public, will continue to fight for the rights of the people of Balochistan.

Furthermore, Maulana Hidayat warned that if the issues of missing persons, the exploitation of resources, and the atrocities committed by security forces and federal authorities are not addressed, Jamaat-e-Islami will organize a historic sit-in in Quetta with the participation of one lakh people. He pointed out that the region has been effectively turned into a “no-go area,” with restrictions on borders, business activities, and internet access, further adding to the difficulties faced by the people of Balochistan.

In his speech at various events in Gwadar, he highlighted that the people of Gwadar had placed their trust in him by electing him as an MPA. He assured them that all their issues would be addressed with full consultation and involvement of the local population. He called for an end to the exploitation of Balochistan’s resources by powerful forces and emphasized the need to treat the people of Balochistan with respect and dignity, rejecting the notion that they are inferior or subservient.

Maulana Hidayat expressed disappointment over how the ruling elite, powerful forces, and security agencies have historically ignored the people of Balochistan and exploited their resources. He noted that the government has shown no concern for the people’s poverty, unemployment, and unrest. He also condemned the use of force and violence under the guise of maintaining peace, stating that such actions only worsen the situation and push the peaceful population into resistance. He stressed that resolving the issues of Balochistan requires dialogue, not threats or military force.

Maulana Hidayat concluded by blaming the inexperienced team of security forces and the government for worsening the situation in Balochistan through their reliance on coercion and violence instead of dialogue. He reaffirmed Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to securing the rights of Balochistan’s people and ending their exploitation.
