18-Year-Old Indian Teen Earns Guinness World Record for Having Excessive Hair on Face Due to Werewolf Syndrome

India:An 18-year-old boy from India, Lalit Patidar, has been awarded a Guinness World Record for having an extraordinarily high number of hairs on his face, a condition caused by a rare disorder known as *Werewolf Syndrome*.

The decision to include Lalit Patidar’s record was made after a thorough examination of his face, where officials discovered that he has 201.72 hairs per square centimeter on his face. Lalit, who has lived with excessive facial hair growth since childhood, now holds the male version of the Guinness World Record for this condition. The condition is medically known as *Hypertrichosis* and is also referred to as *Werewolf Syndrome*.

This condition is extremely rare, affecting approximately one in a billion people. More than 90% of Lalit’s face is covered in hair, and he has been living with this rare syndrome since his early years.

Lalit shared with the Guinness World Records team that during his school years, other children were afraid of him, but once they got to know him and began talking to him, they realized that he was not so different from them.

A YouTuber who shares his daily life experiences, Lalit expressed his pride in achieving the world record, saying he feels honored to have been recognized for his unique condition.
