Karachi Electricity Consumers May Get Major Relief: KE Proposes Reduction of Rs 4.98 Per Unit

Islamabad:A significant relief is expected for electricity consumers in Karachi, as K-Electric (KE) has proposed a reduction in electricity rates by up to Rs 4.98 per unit. The request for this price cut has been submitted by KE to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
The reduction is being sought under the fuel charge adjustment (FCA) for the month of November. If approved, this adjustment will provide over Rs 7.17 billion in relief to Karachi’s electricity consumers.
NEPRA is scheduled to hear the KE request on **January 15**, where the final decision regarding the tariff reduction will be made.
This move is expected to provide significant financial relief to the residents of Karachi, whose electricity bills will be lower if the proposed reduction is approved by the regulatory authority.
