Scissors Left Inside Woman’s Abdomen During Surgery in Madhya Pradesh, India

Islamabad:In a shocking incident of medical negligence in India, a pair of scissors was found inside a woman’s abdomen during a CT scan, two years after she underwent a stomach surgery.
According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred on Friday in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh, where 44-year-old Kamla Bai had been complaining of severe abdominal pain for the past two years. Despite taking various medications, her pain had only worsened over time. Doctors recommended a CT scan, which revealed a surprising and distressing discovery: a pair of scissors had been left inside her abdomen.
Kamla Bai had undergone stomach surgery in Gwalior two years ago, and it is suspected that the scissors were mistakenly left inside her during that procedure. The surgical team had stitched her up without realizing the tool had been left behind. The discovery of the scissors has raised serious concerns about medical negligence.
Kamla Bai’s family has called for strict action against the doctors responsible for this serious oversight. The district hospital authorities have assured that they will prepare a detailed report of the incident and forward it to higher authorities. Meanwhile, Kamla Bai is expected to undergo another surgery to have the scissors removed from her abdomen.
This incident has sparked outrage, highlighting ongoing concerns over medical malpractice and negligence in the country.
