JUI-F Pangur Condemns Action Against Journalist, Calls for Resolution of Hospital Issues
Quetta:The leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Pangur, including Amir Hafiz Mohammad Azam Baloch, General Secretary Maulana Abdul Haleem, and other cabinet members, has strongly condemned the threats and actions taken against a local journalist who reported on the poor state of the Teaching Hospital in Pangur.
In a statement, the JUI-F leaders said that the report, which was published in both electronic and print media, was based on facts. The people of Pangur are well aware of the severe shortcomings at the hospital, including a shortage of doctors, with many medical professionals not fulfilling their duties. The hospital’s ambulance service is also inadequate, and essential medicines are virtually nonexistent, the statement noted.
The party expressed its dismay over the subsequent threats directed at the journalist and the actions taken against them. JUI-F labeled these actions as “completely unjust and retaliatory” and demanded that the authorities refrain from persecuting the media for reporting the truth.
### **Call for Action on Hospital Issues, Not Reprisals Against Journalists**
The JUI-F Pangur leadership called on the hospital administration to focus on resolving the critical issues at the facility rather than targeting journalists. They stressed that the people of Pangur deserve quality healthcare services locally, and currently, many patients are forced to travel to Turbat, Quetta, or Karachi for treatment due to the hospital’s deficiencies. If the hospital’s services were improved, the locals would never need to seek medical care outside Pangur, the statement added.
Hafiz Mohammad Azam Baloch, the Amir of JUI-F Pangur, also extended his support to the journalist community, praising their efforts to highlight local issues. He urged the administration and relevant institutions to stand with the press in order to ensure that the critical issues facing Pangur, especially the state of the hospital, are properly addressed.
