11-Year-Old Student Muhammad Masoor Khan Kakr Still Missing After 88 Days in Quetta Kidnapping Case

Quetta:Muhammad Masoor Khan Kakr, an 11-year-old student of third grade, who was abducted from Patel Road in Quetta city on November 15, 2024, is still missing after 88 days. The child was reportedly kidnapped while on his way to school in a school van. Masoor Khan Kakr hails from a prominent tribal family engaged in the gold business in Balochistan.
According to family members, he was abducted from the busy Patel Bagh neighborhood in Quetta. Despite ongoing efforts, the child has not been recovered yet. On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, his family and members of the Kakr tribe held a protest at Unity Square in Quetta.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sardar Sifaraz Bukhari, met the protesters and assured them of forming a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to look into the matter, requesting 10 more days to resolve the case. The case has raised concerns about the safety and security of citizens, particularly within the civil society in Quetta. Despite the protests and assurances from local officials, the child’s whereabouts remain unknown.
