Deadline for Mandatory Vaccination Checks for Saudi Arabia-Bound Passengers Extended by One Month

KARACHI:The deadline for implementing mandatory vaccination verification for Umrah pilgrims and other passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia has been extended by one month.

According to a circular, the verification process at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport will now take effect from 10:00 am on November 20.

The authorities had previously announced October 15 as the deadline, after which passengers would be prohibited from travelling without a valid vaccination card.

Under the mandatory vaccination requirements, passengers must receive the required vaccination at least 10 days before travel.

The circular stated that a government dispensary at Karachi airport had been providing vaccination services round the clock to facilitate travellers.

In addition, emergency vaccination facilities were available in the airport’s departure lounge for pilgrims and other passengers arriving from distant areas.

The extension is expected to provide travellers with additional time to meet the vaccination requirements before departing for Saudi Arabia.
