Those Who Took an Oath Not to Engage in Politics Are Controlling All of Politics: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily) — Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that we do not need to take certificates of patriotism from anyone, and we should not be taught love for the homeland through machine guns. Those who take an oath not to engage in politics are the very ones controlling all of politics. When we speak, our character is assassinated; roads to provocation should not be opened without reason.

According to details, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he once again rejected the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, strongly criticized the policies of the government and decision-making institutions, and announced that a grand FATA jirga will be convened in the first week of November to protect the FATA merger and provincial rights. He said a FATA convention, students’ convention, and teachers’ convention will be held on the FATA issue, and a large rally will also be held in Faisalabad.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that several military operations have been conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far, but they have not produced any positive results. It was the PML-N government that merged the tribal districts of the former FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but today the same PML-N has deprived the former FATA of its rights and handed it back to the center. In our view, all these measures and exercises are being carried out solely to seize the province’s minerals.

He said that an emergency was imposed in those areas that were previously under federal control, and an emergency was imposed in the tribal areas. Handing FATA back to federal control naturally creates doubts in people’s hearts and minds that unrest is a pretext while seizing the province’s mineral reserves is the real objective. The US ambassador mentioned minerals in her interview, but the nation is being kept unaware of global powers’ access to our resources.

Speaking on international investment, the JUI-F chief raised the question that multinational companies operate all over the world, but why is only the United States showing interest here? Why are obstacles being created for companies from the rest of the world? Those who take an oath under the Constitution not to engage in politics are, unfortunately, the very ones controlling the country’s entire politics at this time.

Additionally, speaking about his personal security, he expressed concerns that his life is unsafe. During the press conference, Maulana Fazlur Rehman also recited the following emotional verses to reflect the country’s current situation and his political stance:

They are telling me that I have no love for the homeland,
They are teaching me love through a machine gun.
I am ignorant, I do not call cruelty a kindness,
This is the address I received from their assembly.
