Global Oil Prices Rise Amid Middle East Tensions, Brent Crude Reaches $106.58 per Barrel

Global crude oil prices continued to rise amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with concerns over potential supply disruptions driving market uncertainty.

In early trading on Wednesday, Brent crude futures increased by 89 cents, or 0.8%, to $106.58 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also rose by 80 cents, or 0.9%, to $94.94 per barrel.

According to Reuters, the gains came after oil prices ended Tuesday’s session on a mixed note. Brent crude fell by 0.9%, while WTI rose by 0.4%.

Traders are closely monitoring risks to oil supplies stemming from fighting involving Yemen’s Houthi group and Saudi Arabia, as well as the possibility of additional diesel supplies from Russia.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy reported that the Houthi group had targeted an administrative building belonging to state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco in Dhahran, causing a limited fire.

The latest developments have heightened concerns about regional energy infrastructure and the potential impact of escalating Middle East tensions on global oil markets.
