Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Was Imposed Not Over Unrest but Over the Government’s Non-Cooperation Against Terrorism: Mir Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — During a Balochistan Assembly session, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while expressing his views on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said that the founding fathers who framed the Constitution included these articles in the Constitution keeping in mind the situation of today. A comparison is being drawn between the situations of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whereas in KP, emergency was imposed not on the basis of law and order but over the government’s failure to play its role. He said that the relevant party has always adopted a lenient policy against terrorism; in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the money given for security was used to create a social media team. To deal with terrorism, support to security institutions, legislation, and cooperation in the narrative are needed, but in an environment being shaped at the international level, there is talk of attacking the federation. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the People’s Party sacrificed Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and the Awami National Party sacrificed its leadership. There is talk of linking Balochistan with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Balochistan government, together with the federal government, is engaged in eliminating terrorism. Emergency was not imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to unrest but was imposed over non-cooperation in eliminating terrorism.
