Over 300 PTI Workers Detained Ahead of November 24 Protest March in Islamabad

Islamabad:More than 300 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers have been detained by Islamabad police in a combing operation ahead of the party’s planned protest march to the capital on November 24. These workers had arrived in Islamabad early to take part in the protest called by PTI Chairman Imran Khan, but were apprehended during a series of raids conducted by law enforcement across the city.

The operation included checks at guesthouses, hostels, and other locations where PTI workers were reportedly staying. Police sources confirmed that the detentions occurred in several districts of Islamabad, with a significant number of arrests made from areas such as Karachi Company, Kohsar, Barah Kahou, Ramna, Loi Bher, Sangjani, and Tarnol.

According to media reports, the following breakdown of arrests took place:

– **Karachi Company Police Station:** 70 workers
– **Kohsar Police Station:** 60 workers
– **Barah Kahou Police Station:** 20 workers
– **Ramna Police Station:** 25 workers
– **Loi Bher Police Station:** 35 workers
– **Sangjani Police Station:** 45 workers
– **Tarnol Police Station:** 42 workers

The arrested workers had arrived in the capital in groups to participate in the PTI’s protest, which has led to significant disruptions in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The protest, called by Imran Khan, has already caused major roads, public transport, and key interchanges to be blocked, effectively halting daily life in the cities.

Authorities are on high alert, prepared to respond to any potential unrest that could arise during the protest. Law enforcement agencies have been deployed throughout the region to maintain order and prevent any incidents of violence or lawlessness during the protest march.

PTI’s protest today is part of the party’s ongoing political campaign, as tensions continue to rise between the party and the government.
