Barrister Gohar says PTI seeks meaningful political dialogue

CHARSADDA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has reiterated that his party remains ready for meaningful negotiations, urging the government and opposition to set aside their differences and resolve political issues through dialogue.

As per a report, Gohar expressed hope that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman would play a constructive role in easing the prevailing political tensions.

He said PTI had tried to bring Fazlur Rehman into the opposition alliance, adding that all political parties should set aside their egos and sit at the negotiating table.

Moreover, describing the political deadlock, the PTI chairman said both the government and opposition were stuck in the mud, emphasising the need for dialogue to move forward.

He also rejected imposing governor’s rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a solution to the province’s problems.

Gohar maintained that PTI stood with the state in the fight against terrorism and defended KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, saying the chief minister had never made a statement in support of terrorists.

The PTI chairman urged political stakeholders to pursue dialogue and cooperation to ease tensions and address the country’s political challenges.
