Imran Khan Was Not Even Fit to Become an MPA or MNA, Says Jawad Ahmad
Singer and Barabri Party chief recalls PTI founder’s defeat in all eight constituencies in 1997 despite World Cup victory and hospital project

LAHORE: Barabri Party chairman and singer Jawad Ahmad has criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, claiming that his abilities and character were not even suitable for becoming a member of a provincial or national assembly, yet he was made prime minister.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Jawad Ahmad alleged that Imran Khan had been associated with the military and said that when an employee turns against his employer after receiving benefits, he should expect similar treatment.
Referring to Imran Khan’s political history, Jawad Ahmad said that despite winning the Cricket World Cup and establishing a hospital, the former prime minister lost all eight seats he contested in the 1997 general elections.

“Imran Khan’s intelligence, character and standing were not such that he could even become an MPA or MNA, yet he was made prime minister,” Jawad Ahmad said.
The Barabri Party chief also questioned Imran Khan’s political struggle and the circumstances that led to his rise to power, criticising his character and political capabilities.
Jawad Ahmad has previously voiced criticism of Imran Khan and the PTI’s political approach.
