Powerful Classes and Rulers Should Give the People of Balochistan Immediate Peace; Instead of Military Operations and Force, the Path of Political Negotiations Should Be Adopted: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman
Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has said that powerful classes, rulers, and powerful forces must give the people of Balochistan immediate and lasting peace at any cost. Unrest, corruption, and terrorism have affected the whole of Balochistan. Instead of the use of force and military operations, the path of negotiations, meaningful talks, and political solution should be adopted for the establishment of peace.
He expressed these views while talking to delegations in Quetta. He said that Balochistan’s highways are desolate and the people are distressed. Every area is affected by unrest and bloodshed; the economy and trade have been destroyed. There are no employment opportunities at the government level, nor have factories been established by the government for employment and business, while the closure of borders has added fuel to the fire. Everywhere, along with poverty, unemployment, and distress, corruption and unrest prevail; the economy is destroyed, the people are in a bad state, and life and property are insecure.
He said that the youth of Balochistan need not guns but education, employment, and development opportunities. We do not ask for charity; we demand access to resources and rights. The government should immediately take practical steps for peace, development, and prosperity to restore public confidence. Instead of force, coercion, and Form 47, a comprehensive peace plan should be formulated by taking into confidence real political leadership, sincere tribal elders, and all stakeholders, which can offer a permanent solution to the problems of the people of Balochistan.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami is raising its voice against these injustices and public problems everywhere, inside and outside the assembly, on every forum; protests, sit-ins, and gatherings are being held. The people should support Jamaat-e-Islami so that law and order can be restored, an Islamic system of justice and equity can be established, and the people of Balochistan can get their basic rights.
