Electricity Prices Hiked by Rs1.11 Per Unit Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:Electricity prices have been increased by **Rs1.11 per unit** across Pakistan under the August Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA).
According to a notification issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the increase will remain effective for one month.
The additional amount will be recovered from consumers, including those in Karachi, through their **October electricity bills**.
Sources said the August fuel price adjustment would place an additional burden of approximately **Rs19 billion** on electricity consumers.
However, **lifeline consumers will be exempt from the increase**.
The adjustment has been made to account for changes in fuel costs incurred during August.
