Law and Order in the Province Deteriorating; Due to Government Incompetence and Negligence, People Are Not Safe Even on Highways: Opposition

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Opposition leaders have said that law and order in the province has become extremely deteriorated, the people are insecure, and the government appears completely failed in establishing law and order. The opposition has always made efforts to improve the situation, but the government has not implemented our suggestions. We demand that the government convene an on-camera session and give a briefing to bring the real facts and improvements to light. If the nation was offended by the passport I threw in the heat of the moment during today’s assembly session, then I apologise for it, because it is our national asset, and safeguarding it is a national responsibility for all of us.

This was stated by Opposition Leader Mir Aziz Zehri and Member of the Provincial Assembly Mir Zabad Ali Riki while talking to the media after the provincial assembly session. Members of the assembly said that today, in the provincial assembly session, the issue of law and order was raised on a point of order, but the government is not serious about it, nor is it taking such steps that could establish and improve law and order. Due to the government’s negligence and incompetence, the situation has reached the point where people cannot even travel on national highways, and the situation in various districts is also bad, due to which ordinary people are being affected day by day. Due to the deteriorating situation, the unemployment rate continues to rise. We have always tried to raise the government’s weaknesses on the assembly floor and outside, but it seems the government is not taking the opposition on board either. This province belongs to all of us; we want the situation to normalise, and in this regard, it is the government’s duty to intensify efforts to establish its writ regarding law and order, and also to soon convene an on-camera session to consider where the government’s weakness lies and where there are security lapses.

In response to a question, Zabad Ali Riki said that if the nation was offended by the passport he threw in the heat of the moment during today’s assembly session, then he apologises for it, because it is our national asset, and safeguarding it is a national responsibility for all of us.
